Sikh Workshop
THE Sikh religion was brought vividly to life at School last week as Year 4 children were invited to take part in dressing up and storytelling.
Taking place in the school gym last Wednesday (1), BHS Educational Workshops provided an opportunity for the children to learn a little more about the religion they are studying in RE lessons this term.
Many colourful outfits were worn, gongs were played and incense burned as the children recited phrases in Punjabi and Sanskrit and heard tales of Guru Nanak.
Caroline Young, RE coordinator and organiser of the visit, described the experience as “excellent” and thanked the workshop for visiting.
“We had a wonderful day of dressing up and having fun while learning all about Sikhism in a way that makes all of our learning in the classroom just that little bit more real,” she said.
“Our thanks go to BHS Workshops for coming into school and providing such an entertaining and culturally educational experience for our children.”
