Learning to Lead Leadership Development Programme

Course Outline

This research-informed leadership development programme is designed specifically for current and aspiring middle leaders in primary education. Blending leadership theory with contextualised experience and practical application, the course enhances and augments learning from specialist NPQs and aims to prepare participants for leadership roles within a primary setting.

Delivered through a hybrid model combining face-to-face and online sessions, the course offers flexibility and builds a cross-school leadership community, enabling participants to support each other in navigating real-world leadership challenges across various settings.

Each participant will design and implement a Leadership Impact Project, directly applying their learning to their own schools. These projects are a key feature of the course, offering an opportunity to trial leadership approaches, reflect on impact and create meaningful, measurable change supported by expert facilitators and peer feedback. The Leadership Impact Project will enable senior leaders and headteachers to secure real-time benefits in school development through the professional growth of their staff.

The course is designed to complement school Appraisal and CPD cycles, making it an ideal recommendation for headteachers looking to nurture talent and enhance leadership at all levels.
